Visitors to Our Church

If you asked somebody at ACC what we are all about, they will tell you it is commiment to Jesus' Great Commission wrapped up in His love. You will sense God's love in all that we do here. We are a church open to God's Word and His leading. We are committed to teaching the Bible in a pracitcal way that you can relate to, without diminishing the power of the message of God's Word.

Our services are a blend of contemporary and traditional music with various instrumental accompaniment. You are welcome to worship in your best suit or your favorite casual attire. How you dress is not as important to us as what you learn about God and His love for you.

What is the Church of Christ/Christian church?
Athens Church of Christ is 1 of 10,000 independent churches of Christ/Christian churches whose mission is to restore the authority of Jesus Christ as outlined in the Bible. We are not governed by a hierarchy of leaders in a denomination, but leaders set apart by the congregation under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. None of us are perfect saints. We are forgiven sinners growing to maturity in Christ.

How do I become a member?
As with every account in the book of Acts, we ask each one to have faith in Jesus Christ as the son of God; repent of sin; confess your faith in Christ and be baptized (immersed) into Christ. We also periodically offer classes on membership, "First Steps", during the Sunday School hour.
